Konnichiwa!

My name is Mei and I’m so pleased to have you visit.

I share quirky stories of the amigurumi (あみぐるみ) I make, sometimes on a whim (I love watching anime, but can’t help feeling sad when a series ends. To make myself feel better, I make keepsake dolls of my favourite characters. Yay!).

I also share free patterns of some of my favourite makes (Totoro!), so do drop by every now and then to see which cloud I’ve got my head on at the moment 😉

Have something whimsical to share? Write to me at amigurumei[at]gmail[dot]com

I have a book too! Buy the newly-released (Sept 16, 2014) Hello Kitty Crochet by clicking on the book cover on the top right of the sidebar 🙂

P/S I also have another craft blog! Hop over to craftypedia.wordspress.com to see some of my fun tutorials on everyday craft projects.

    1. Hi Luisa! Yes please do go ahead 🙂 I would love it if you provided a link back to my site. Do share photos when you’re done! Can’t wait to see your work 🙂 all the best!

  4. Hello! I absolutely love your patterns, thank you so much for sharing them! You also have me curious – where do you get your brads? The ones you use seem ‘flat’ as opposed to the rounded dome brads I keep finding everywhere.

  5. Hi I love all of your patterns and I can’t wait til your book comes out! I was wondering where do you buy your pink brads for the cheeks/blush and what type of yarn you use?

    1. Hi Kame!
I buy my pink brads from a local craft store in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I have been using acrylic yarn quite a bit! 🙂 I hope to be able to share more on the type of yarn I use in a future blog post!

  6. Hi…

i want to ask : may i know what is beads you use in hello kitty cheek? Where can i found it? Please let me know… thanks a lot

  7. Could you explain how to make Deery Lou’s neck? I’m confused on how you start with 7 sts but in rows 2-4 you should have 20 sts.

  8. Hello 🙂
I just wanted to say I love your book hello kitty crochet, can’t put it down. I just wanted to ask but what is your policy for selling items made from your patterns? Thanks 🙂

    1. Hi Emma! I’m totally fine with you selling items made from my patterns 🙂 However, as the patterns in Hello Kitty Crochet is licensed under Sanrio, I have heard from other crafters that they may be strict about it. No harm trying I suppose? Would love to see your work!

  9. It’s not so much the hello kitty but the basic body patterns you have at the back of your book, using that to maybe make up a different character 🙂

  10. Hello! While looking for officially licensed patterns, I found you/your crochet book and I am going to be making your Hello Kitty patterns for a friend. Do you have any other Hello Kitty crochet books? Thank you.
